About MARK REINERS
Independent researcher, entrepreneur, poet, photographer and more. Serious as I have been about photography for many years, I long resisted considering the possibility of pursuing it as a "profession". Why?
My passion for the process, for the excitement of the living spirit of adventure and discovery during photographic excursions, for being hyper-vigilant with ALIVENESS to the often subtle nuances of light, mood, aura and undiscovered compositional possibilities lying in wait during such excursions - whether a mere walk through my neighborhood or on a cross-country journey - has always run so deep, and veered so close to the very threshold of the spiritual that the mere thought that making photography a "profession" would ruin this, that answering to client or any outside dictates constraining the independence of these processes or the autonomy of following the intuitions often guiding them would render it routine, was absolutely anathema to me.
But now, the combination of the production flexibility of digital with the breadth of services provided by venues such as Fine Art America have converged to revive the hope that these endeavors might commercially become something more than merely a personally cherished avocation. In the spirit of that hope, and while my collection as I write this brief, preliminary biography in early July of 2021, consists of a mere six images, it will be my hope that those who have found their way to this site will find in these initial images an inkling of that passion and will be heartened and inspired to return often in the anticipation that my very determined intention is for there to be many more to come; some from my archive of existing work not yet rendered and uploaded, and the many that I have long envisioned in portfolio series not yet realized. To be continued . . .
